The entryway is hard to find. Right now you have to use the entryway to the jeans store. There is no outdoor signage for the hotel. But, they say they will have their own entryway soon. The hotel is referred to as the 5th corner because it is located at a 5 point intersection. The exterior of the building is not impressive. But inside everything is new. The hotel first opened September 16, 2003. They currently have 13 spacious rooms. The corner suites are quite large with interesting local street views. By May they expect to have 27 rooms available and they will later expand to 60 rooms. The rooms have a connection for internnet access and the hotel features a small restaurant. It is a good facility. A good thing about this location is the close proximity to the Vladimirskaya metro station. It is also in a neighborhood packed with old, interesting buildings. You can walk to Nevsky Prospect in about 15 minutes.

There is a new peak of luxury in Saint Petersburg and it is the Grand Hotel Emerald - wow! The hotel features 93 rooms and is planning a grand opening for February 2004. The lobby is so elegant and beautiful. If luxury is important to you, then this is your hotel. I had a thorough facility tour which included their fanciest suites. Wow! And I love the local city art that adorns the walls. The hotel features a serious-looking small casino. There is a very well equipped gym for weight training. And I absolutely loved their super-dooper spa area. They have Turkish and Russian saunas, a shower massage room - something I had never seen before, and a small interesting pool. I felt quite comfortable there. There is also a very nice atrium in the center of the hotel. Each room features internet access through the TV. The hotel is not related to the Grand Hotel Europe. Superb facility. Beautiful. Elegant. Substantial. Very good security. Here is an industry press release about the
