Duny Hotel Lh P Phone: 7 (812) 437-3689 Rates: Single 440 rubles ($14.67); double 940 rubles ($31.33). Meals are included. Location Rating: It is in the northern suburbs and far from the city. Proximity To Metro: Nowhere near it! Lobby Appearance: Not good. Room Appearance: Not good. Useful Nearby Businesses: There are none. This hotel is very isolated. Hotel Restaurants: They have a cafe. Other Amenities: None. Would I Stay Here? No. The place is a ghetto. Staff Speaks English? No. Comments: This would definitely be a bad place to stay. Dvorets Molodezhi Hotel (also referred
to as LDM Hotel)
K Phone: 7 (812) 234-3278 Location Rating: Poor. The surrounding area is
dull and the location is a good hike away from the metro. Proximity To Metro: Poor. A 20 minute walk to Petrogradskaya Metro Station. Lobby Appearance: Interesting, because there is a major indoor entertainment center there. Room Appearance: Very basic. Carpets need replacement. Bathrooms, especially the shower areas, were unattractive. The only floor in this building that has been updated is the sixth floor. The corridor is nicer. As for the 6th floor rooms, even though they have been recently updated, they still didn't seem that nice to me. And Tanya felt the same way. Useful Nearby Businesses: Inside the same building is quite a large entertainment center. There are numerous pool tables, numerous Russian billiards tables, many video games, pinball machines, air hockey and miniature golf (old looking). They also have quite a nice bowling alley (looks brand new). And a room with gambling machines. Hotel Restaurants: There is a nice looking restaurant, a few bar areas, a cafe where you can enjoy a "sharmeerva" and a small nightclub called Third Planet which, in my opinion, has a weird, distasteful and OFFENSIVE decor. Geez! - I can't believe they highlight this nightclub in their hotel brochure. Absolutely tasteless. Other Amenities: You can buy flowers near the front entryway. Would I Stay Here? I would prefer not to. Staff Speaks English? No. Comments: As I entered the front entryway, hot, unpleasant smelly air was blown into my face. So you need to hold your breath when you walk in the door. The entertainment area has a certain level of excitement in the air, but the hotel facility was a disappointment. The front desk was not polite and they did not seem motivated to provide good customer service. I would not like to stay in their older rooms. The newer rooms I thought were just so so, and I think the price of $120 is a greedy sum for what you get. The neighborhood is quiet and dull, with nothing beautiful or interesting to look at. And the metro is a hike. But as you walk to the metro, the surroundings gradually become more interesting. Petrogradskya Metro Station is located in an old, and very interesting part of the city. Lots of people, shops and cafes and everything else. The Dvorets Molodezhi might be an okay place to have a conference because of the interesting entertainment facility. But this is not the greatest place to spend a night.
This name popped up a couple times in my search for Saint Petersburg's hotels. I learned that it is just a wing of the mediocre Hotel Sovetskaya. The Sovetskaya complex has two different lobbies. The Fontanka lobby is very nice, like the Sovetskaya's, but in walking the corridors, I did not have the sense that this facility for travelers is among the city's best. Is there separate management between the two wings? I don't think so. Both would not allow us to see their rooms. See the Hotel Sovetskaya's review... Hotel Fort Konstantin K P Phone: 7 (812) 439-1804 Rates: Single 250 rubles ($8.33) to 300 rubles ($10); suite 500 rubles ($16.67) Location Rating: If you want to easily visit
Saint Petersburg, this location is extremely poor. It is on the island of Kronshtadt, but far
away from the town in an isolated area along the water. It is a houseboat with a
view of several very old island fortresses. Proximity To Metro: Extremely poor. You need to get somebody to give you a ride to the town's bus station. It is too far to walk. Once you get a bus, it probably takes around 30 minutes to get to Chernaya Rechka Metro Station. Lobby Appearance: Quite small. The corridors are dark. Bring a flashlight. Room Appearance: First we saw the suite. It was so small and had a bathroom. Then we saw their regular rooms. Boy, they are super tiny, and no toilet or shower. The communal shower and toilet looked fairly modern and clean, although one of these had an odor. Useful Nearby Businesses: You can take excursions to the island fortresses. Not much else around. The area looks industrial. And they are building a giant tunnel here which will go under the water. Hotel Restaurants: They have a small cafe. It looks okay. Other Amenities: Satellite phone in the lobby. Would I Stay Here? I would prefer not to. Staff Speaks English? No. Comments: The stairs to the upper deck are very steep. No bus goes to this hotel. You must get a ride from somebody to the town's bus station. Home Go To Moscow Hotel Reviews Next Page
