One other question... how did you like staying at the Neva Hotel?

Ed--
I would say the Neva is minimally deserving of its three-star rating. The location is good--the best thing about it.  The rooms are clean.  That's the next best thing. The women who are in charge of each floor are relatively courteous (by standards that one gets used to).  So that's okay.  The breakfast area tends to be over-crowded, with not enough tables.  The rooms and beds are certainly not luxurious. The showers and toilets are rather rustic (not to mention rusty). Warm water arrives only after a long wait.   Only a few of the staff speak any English. In general, one needs to be in the mood to "rough it" a bit when staying there.

These comments are based on our personal knowledge of two of the rooms (a double and a single) and on reports from my colleagues and friends in eight other rooms.

I hope this is helpful.
