I stayed in an apartment in St. Petersburg, here is a link:

The apartment was great. When I first entered the building it's quite run
down and I thought 'Oh dear, what is this place?' But once we took the
elevator up to the sixth floor and entered the apartments I was very
relieved. They are modern, clean, comfortable and very warm (the temperature
outside was -6C). I cannot recommend these apartments highly enough there is
nothing I can fault them on, the location is excellent (just off Nevsky
Prospect) and very near my newly discovered favourite restraunt (Bliny
Domik). The maid service was great, she's meant to clean your room every
other day, but she was very eager and did it pretty much every day. The
photos on the website make you think 'can the rooms really be that smart?'
But indeed they are, they have all modern conveniences, the power shower is
great. We didn't have a oven just a microwave, but who needs an oven when
you can buy a delicious dinner round the corner for $5!
Once again I can't recommend these apartments highly enough and at around
$50 a night they make a cheap alternative to a hotel.
